Open Innovation Day (OID) is an annual series of in-depth discussions and business networking activities initiated by the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (NATEC) under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The event is supported by the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC C4IR) and co-hosted by the Open Innovation and Techpreneur Institute (OITI), the Technology Incubation Center (TIC), and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), with strategic partnership from SoiHub Open Innovation Center, Saigontel, Qualcomm, Business Finland, WorkFlow, and other collaborators.
Participants of OID 2025
The event gathers more than 1,000 local and international participants, including enterprises, research institutes, universities, investment funds, supporting organizations, and promising startups. Its goal is to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and commercialization of innovation in Vietnam.
A Space for Connection: Bridging Knowledge and Technology
Open Innovation Day 2025 is recognized as one of the flagship initiatives in building an open innovation ecosystem for Vietnam. Co-organized by SoiHub, a leading open innovation center in Ho Chi Minh City, OID 2025 goes beyond being a technology event—it serves as a dialogue platform where enterprises, startups, research institutions, and international organizations come together to discuss the future of sustainable development, digital transformation, and global economic integration.
The event aims to create a multidimensional connection space where breakthrough ideas meet investors, new business models are tested, and global innovation initiatives are expanded across Vietnam’s business community.
Eight In-depth Discussion Panels: Shaping the Future of Vietnam’s Technology
During the two-day program, Open Innovation Day 2025 will feature eight expert-led panels bringing together top policymakers, business leaders, and technology investors from Vietnam and abroad. Discussions will focus on critical topics such as strategies and policies for science, technology, and innovation development in Vietnam; the digital technology industry and AI ecosystem; blockchain applications for industry-specific challenges; cloud computing and data center infrastructure; green energy transition; opportunities from new materials; smart manufacturing supply chains; and cross-border e-commerce.
Beyond knowledge sharing, the OID 2025 panels are designed as a convergence point between vision and action, between national strategy and enterprise solutions, toward building a truly collaborative environment that enhances competitiveness and fosters comprehensive innovation in Vietnam’s economy.
Business Matching: Where enterprises and Technology Converge
Alongside the panel sessions, the Business Matching program, scheduled for October 25, 2025, will strengthen collaboration among enterprises, investors, and startups. The program focuses on sharing practical challenges and technology-driven solutions in areas such as advanced materials, energy efficiency, smart manufacturing, and automation.
Notably, participating companies will present real-world challenges related to developing commercial-service zones in industrial parks, adopting green materials to replace traditional inputs, and improving energy management efficiency in production and agriculture. These activities not only encourage innovation but also expand cooperation between the private sector and research institutions, helping realize the vision of a green and digital industrial transformation.
Commitment to advancing Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem
The participation of leading technology corporations such as Qualcomm, through initiatives like L2Pro Vietnam and Qualcomm Academy, underscores a strong commitment to enhancing technology capabilities, nurturing digital talent, and supporting the startup ecosystem in Vietnam.
With its scale, impact, and global collaboration spirit, Open Innovation Day 2025 is not only an annual gathering for the innovation community but also a symbol of Vietnam’s vision as a destination for innovation and technology.
L2Pro Viet Nam focuses on its key audiences of students, researchers, startups and Vietnamese enterprises, helping the community protect and maximize the value of creativity and turn ideas into strategic intellectual assets.
Amid Viet Nam’s efforts to accelerate the development of its innovation ecosystem and strengthen integration into global value chains, L2Pro Viet Nam – a non profit online intellectual property training platform developed by Qualcomm – has officially been introduced in the country.
The event marks an important step forward in enhancing competitiveness and raising awareness of intellectual property value among students, researchers, startups and Vietnamese businesses.
L2Pro, short for “Learn to Protect,” is a training program that has been successfully implemented in the United States, India, Taiwan and Africa. In Viet Nam, the program focuses on students, researchers, innovators and startups, helping the community protect and fully leverage creative value and transform ideas into strategic assets.
L2Pro Viet Nam provides a core knowledge system that enables individuals and businesses to adopt an intellectual property mindset throughout the innovation journey. The program helps learners understand how to protect creative assets through patents, apply copyright to safeguard inventions, optimize trademark development and management, and align intellectual property with business strategy. In addition, L2Pro supports the extraction of value from research and development through intellectual property tools and promotes sustainable and effective commercialization of innovative products.

According to Mr. Ram Krishnan, Senior Director of Technology Licensing at Qualcomm: “Viet Nam has significant potential, and to turn that potential into reality, the country needs an innovation driven economy. L2Pro helps students and young entrepreneurs understand how to protect and capitalize on intellectual property, thereby strengthening business growth.”
Multi dimensional collaboration ensuring academic quality and practical application
L2Pro Viet Nam is built on multi dimensional collaboration across the ecosystem, including government agencies, legal consulting firms and startups, to ensure both professional accuracy and practical relevance.
The Intellectual Property Office of Viet Nam under the Ministry of Science and Technology directly contributes to the training content to ensure legal accuracy, real world applicability and alignment with the national intellectual property framework. Its involvement demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing intellectual property education in a structured and authoritative manner.
BIGPRO Consulting Joint Stock Company, a law firm specializing in intellectual property, serves as the legal content partner for L2Pro Viet Nam. With extensive experience in advising and protecting intellectual property for businesses, BigPro brings practical case studies, lessons learned and in depth knowledge that help learners apply concepts effectively in creative and business activities.
Vbee Data Services and Solutions Joint Stock Company, champion of the Qualcomm Viet Nam Innovation Challenge, has actively supported the integration of text to speech technology into the platform. Vbee’s AI voice solutions help broaden accessibility for a wide range of users.
Mr. Dang Hoai Bac, Director of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, shared: “Today is an important milestone for our Institute. We appreciate Qualcomm for launching the L2Pro platform, which helps Vietnamese students and startups better understand intellectual property rights – an essential foundation for global expansion. We hope our students will be pioneers in innovation and intellectual property protection, contributing to the creation of new technology products and businesses. Qualcomm’s support will strengthen our mission of training high quality human resources for digital transformation and international integration.”
