ENHANCING INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN THE SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY IN TAIWAN THROUGH TRAINING PROGRAMS
Within the framework of a series of training programs on human resource development in semiconductors, from August 25 to 29, 2024, a delegation from Long An province, led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phạm Tấn Hòa, along with representatives from the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Finance, the People’s Committees of Đức Hòa, Đức Huệ, Bến Lức, Cần Giuộc districts, and lecturers from Long An College, had participated in training and experience-sharing sessions in Taiwan (China).
The human resource development training program in semiconductors is designated by the Open Innovation Hub (SoiHub), in collaboration with the Southeast Asia Impact Alliance, aimed at providing a comprehensive perspective of the semiconductor industry, thereby learning and absorbing practical innovations as well as experiences to apply high technology development locally. Additionally, SoiHub provided professional consulting and supported the delegation in accessing advanced technologies while creating opportunities for international cooperation, contributing to the semiconductors development strategy of Long An province.
On August 28, the delegation had the opportunity to study and work with leading educational and research organizations in Taiwan. At National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, a leading semiconductor training and research center, the delegation has inquired about the cooperation between educational institutions, businesses, and the government in promoting semiconductors.
Within the same day, in the afternoon, the delegation had an important meeting with the government of Hsinchu City, in which developing policies and high-tech urban management models of semiconductors were discussed. Long An province also met with the Management Board of Hsinchu Science Park; semiconductor associations; semiconductor training and research institutions; semiconductor chip design, packaging, and testing companies, to learn about the practical models and experiences of Taiwan (China) in recent times.
Through this business trip, the delegation had gained deeper insights into preferential policies for businesses, promoting technological innovation, as well as training high-quality human resources. Long An can apply these experiences to attract investment, develop the semiconductor industry, and enhance the province’s economic competitiveness. Meanwhile, it is also an opportunity for Long An to expand international cooperation in the semiconductor and high-tech fields, contributing to economic growth and improving the lives of local residents.
Through these international exchange activities, Long An province affirms its determination to become one of the leading provinces in innovation and semiconductor development, participating in the semiconductor value chain in Vietnam.
