LONG AN PROVINCE LEADERS TAKE THE LEAD IN LEARNING FROM SEMICONDUCTOR EXPERIENCE IN SINGAPORE

On July 23, within the framework of the semiconductor training programs, Long An Province made its second business trip to Singapore to participate in training and learn from leading experts in the industry. This is part of Long An’s pioneering efforts in proposing and participating in international training programs to improve the semiconductors capacity.

The Pioneer of Long An Province

Long An is one of the first provinces in Vietnam to participate in an international semiconductor training program for leaders and officials of departments and agencies. Previously, the province coordinated with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Open Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship Institute (OITI), as well as SoiHub, to organize a training session on the theoretical foundation of the semiconductor industry for local officials and experts. The business trip to Singapore has opened the opportunity for Long An to gain hands-on experience from Singapore and Malaysia to determine the role and position of the province in the global semiconductor industry.

Training Program in Singapore

The business trip in Singapore involves several working activities and discussions with the Singapore Ministry of Education, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and leading experts in the semiconductor industry, green transformation as well as circular economy and artificial intelligence (AI) such as Ms. Richard Goh – Director of AWS, Ms. Wan Ka May, Ms. Wei Lin Yun and experts from Malaysia. The Long An delegation has had the chance to work and learn about skills development and human resource training strategies in the semiconductor field, allowing Long An to acquire and apply international experiences into practice to fulfill the needs of the semiconductor industry regarding human resources.

Within the training program series, experts from SoiHub representing OITI not only supported the organization and coordination of the program, but also joined FCC experts to design training courses and provide training support. The presence of experts from SoiHub helped ensure that the training programs were academic and closely linked to the practice and specific needs of Long An.

After the training program in Singapore, Long An will continue to participate in the third training course in the series, scheduled to be held in Taiwan in August. The knowledge and experience gained from these business trips will be the foundation for Long An to develop the province’s semiconductor human resource strategy, affirming the province’s position on the global high-tech industry map.
