WORKSHOP: EXPLORING STRATEGIES AND MODELS FOR DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE UNIVERSITIES
On January 10, 2025, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) hosted the workshop “Exploring Strategies and Models for Developing Innovative Universities”, co-organized with the Open Innovation & Techpreneur Institute (OITI).
The event attracted representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, leading domestic and international universities such as Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Finland), as well as creative enterprises. The program aimed to discuss and share experiences on innovation-driven education strategies and models, especially Learning by Developing (LbD) and case study approaches.

📌 OITI – NTTU Collaboration
OITI introduced a case study project focusing on the entrepreneurial and creative journey of Vietnamese startups, offering students real-world perspectives and in-depth knowledge to apply in modern work environments.
📌 International Insights
Mr. Mika J. Kortelainen from Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Finland) presented the LbD model, emphasizing the importance of linking businesses and universities to equip students with practical skills.
Ms. Le Van Anh, representing Business Finland, shared experiences in building a comprehensive startup innovation ecosystem.
📌 Future Directions
Dr. Hoang Thinh Nhan, Deputy Director of the Nguyen Tat Thanh University Innovation Incubation Center, outlined NTTU’s strategy for developing its innovation ecosystem, reaffirming the university’s pioneering role in innovation-driven education.
The workshop not only provided valuable insights but also reinforced the position of Nguyen Tat Thanh University and OITI in leading educational innovation in Vietnam. It marked an important step toward building a sustainable, practice-oriented creative education ecosystem.
